Water, Water Everywhere: Brita Filter and Nalgene water bottle giveaway
You do your part when it comes to the planet.Taking ecofriendly taxis. Forgoing the night-light. (How many years of therapy did that take?) And though you may not be ready to ditch the SUV quite yet, hey, at least you’re making an effort.
So next time you drink water, take advice from The Biggest Loser and go green with a Brita Filter and Nalgene 'Filter For Good' water bottle. As you know, the new season of The Biggest Loser has already started and this time people are losing weight in pairs - husbands and wives, best friends, mothers and sons or daughters. Another new thing this season is their ban on bottled water. The Biggest Loser is trying to be more friendly to the planet, and drinking bottled water creates a huge amount of waste. Last year Americans threw out $1 billion worth of plastic.
The good news: You can start reducing waste at home, too. I’ve got three Brita faucet mounts and three reusable Filter For Good bottles that I’m giving away. I’ll randomly pick three of the commenters on this post to receive them - so leave a comment before January 30th and I might pick you.
In the meantime, you can go to the Filter For Good website and do what I did and take a pledge to reduce bottled water waste. And if you don’t win an FFG bottle in my giveaway, you can buy one and the proceeds will go to the Blue Planet Run Foundation, a nonprofit organization working to provide 200 million people with a lifetime’s worth of drinking water by 2027.
Just think: Your new Brita filter and Filter For Good water bottle are sure to spark a conversation. About, say, trading in that SUV for a sleek new hybrid.
You know, for the planet and all.

My drinking water comes from a drilled well that is very high in Arsenic, which is only good if I decide I don't want my husband around anymore! Water in bottles is very expensive, so I will look into this product.
Sounds yummy!
I always drink bottled water ... I'd love one of these as my tap water tastes terrible!
Nice site! I'd love one of these Brita Faucet Filters.
It's about time! Brita used to make a nice filtered water bottle, but they discontinued it awhile back. I'm excited about the Filter for Good :)
I probably should have my water tested, as my wife gives me a glass of water with every meal. mmmmmm.... I will have to sneak one of these filters on and see if I start feeling better.
I love clean water!
I'm all for reusable water bottles. My only concern with the Nalgene bottles is the polycarbonate. Though there hasn't been an official recall, aren't we better off using stainless steel?
This is a great initiative - I love the design on the Nalgene. I too wish Nalgene had been able to clear the air about the polycarbonate issues before this was launched, though. Still, great to encourage folks to use reusable water bottles in general instead of bottled water. Now if we could only get television networks to lead by example in all the shows where glamorous characters reach into their near-empty fridges for a fresh cold one - of bottled water, not beer.
I've looked for the old Brita filtered water bottles off and on for years, was never able to find one. This looks like a nice alternative - a Filter for Good would be great for the gym!
I love water and especially the water from my home tap. Filetering it and carrying it in a great reusable bottle sounds like the ideal solution. I saw these on Biggest Loser and my search for info sent me to this site. Would love to win on your give-away and think it is awesome that you are doing it. If more folks would drink more water we would be healthier in so many ways. Can someone tell me if you can use a sport bottle filter in these bottles as well? I am promising myself to drink at least 64 oz of pure water each day. Filtered water will save landfills from 6-7 bottles a day, from me alone, if I use a system like this! Here's to a healthier me and a healthier earth!!

I think the Filter For Good Bottle is wonderful idea to help reduce the water bottle usage. I am guilty of using a few water bottles a day as it is convenient to take one from the fridge that is cold then to fill a glass as I have well water. We are going to purchase the filter for our faucet to start making the change towards reducing the number of bottles we use daily. I have been seriousily making changes towards a better health and looking into the different "green" options including the Filter For Good Bottle. I cant wait until Nalgene releases the OTG verison..
I've been thinking a lot lately about the environment, since I recently saw an Inconvenient Truth. The idea of reducing the amount of plastic bottles we use is just plain common sense and something everyone can do. We should insist on gaurantees that our drinking water is 100% fresh and pure, and then it will be easier to convince the public that it's ok to drink tap water.
I just switched to Energy Saving light bulbs. Next, I'll start to research water filters.

This is most needed in my house - if only so the husband will stop taking my naglene.
*crosses fingers*
Thanks for the Filter for Good link!
