LIFT items are selected either by myself or by one of my guest editors. If you have a cool tip, please share it with me! And, no, you can't pay to be featured on LIFT. That's what advertising is for, and it's clearly labeled as such. I do not want to destroy the legitimacy, integrity, and fun of this blog. Plus, I'll never earn your trust that way.

For the most part, I take the photos ... but from time to time I use Getty Images, iStockphoto (where I am currently a stock photographer) and Bauer-Griffin.

BlogBurst.comLastly, this site is syndicated through Blogburst, so it's likely that you'll see LIFT on Fox News, Reuters, or USA Today.com.

I hope that you continue to enjoy LIFT. I look forward to publishing it.

Thanksgiving with Cooking Light Magazine

Turkey-DinnerGo ahead: Give thanks for all that meaningful stuff like family and good health. But while you’re at it, give thanks that there are people out there willing to roast a turkey and do all the cleanup — so you don’t have to.

What? Not true. Well, not at my house either! Instead (and just as good) we can give thanks for Cooking Light magazine.

Yes, it's that time of year. The days are shorter. The temperature is dropping. The lights are going up. Time to prepare for another season of celebrating, giving, caroling and, of course, busting out the fat pants.

Not this year: The recipes from Cooking Light are the non-diet diet kind, which means you can enjoy yourself without having to adhere to nasty calorie restrictions or impossible-to-follow rules. Imagine eating an entire Thanksgiving dinner. Or actually enjoying breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as dessert and snacks.

If you couldn't find something you liked from this year's offerings, here are links to their entire online Holiday Cookbooks -- choose what best suits your family traditions! So click and enjoy as this Thanksgiving you can finally have your cake (and turkey, and pie, and stuffing) — and eat it, too.
