LIFT is a web magazine for the adventurer in all of us (not necessarily the gym goer) -- successful men and women who work hard and play harder. Fitness isn’t about living at the gym, it’s about living at your peak, no matter what stands in your way. It’s about obeying the alarm clock, peeling yourself out of bed, and finding that extra hour most people think they’ll never have.

LIFT items are selected either by myself or by one of my guest editors. If you have a cool tip, please share it with me! And, no, you can't pay to be featured on LIFT. That's what advertising is for, and it's clearly labeled as such. I do not want to destroy the legitimacy, integrity, and fun of this blog.

For the most part, I take the photos ... but from time to time I use Getty Images, iStockphoto (where I am currently a stock photographer) and Bauer-Griffin.

BlogBurst.comLastly, this site is syndicated through Blogburst, so it's likely that you'll see LIFT on Fox News, Reuters, or USA Today.com.

I hope that you continue to enjoy LIFT. I look forward to publishing it.

New England now has it's own Nike Sneaker and it's an iconic red lobster

Concept-Nike-Lobster-Dunks.pngIt's been said that no matter how ridiculous an idea may be, as long as it’s thought through well enough, it still has the potential to turn out really amazing. Take for example Nike SB's recent sneaker collaboration with Concepts (an 'urban wear' store in Cambridge, MA) and Pilot (a Boston design studio). This particular idea could have been absolutely ridiculous, but in my opinion turned out to be brilliant.

Evidentially, what Concepts did was take Nike's 'Dunk Low' Sneaker and Lobster-ize it, decking out the leather in shades of orange-y reds, putting a table cloth pattern inside the shoe, and even throwing some rubber bands on the toes!

Pilot then came in with some hi-impact packaging and put the shoes in a wooden box, much like a lobster trap -- limited to only 200 pairs nationwide and sold only at one shop -- packaging also included a few t-shirts, some lobster crackers, a poster and even an extra pair of butter yellow laces.

While I currently live outside NYC, I grew up in Maine and actually appreciate the entire execution. Everything works. And, evidentially I'm not the only one who thinks so ... while the sneaker was just released this weekend at $150 a pair, someone has already listed them on Ebay for $1999. (Looks like I missed the boat.)

No, these kicks aren’t for everyone, but they’ll thrill the right urban-minded-attention-seeker-wealthy-I-don't-give-a-damn-what-you-think type.
