LIFT items are selected either by myself or by one of my guest editors. If you have a cool tip, please share it with me! And, no, you can't pay to be featured on LIFT. That's what advertising is for, and it's clearly labeled as such. I do not want to destroy the legitimacy, integrity, and fun of this blog. Plus, I'll never earn your trust that way.

For the most part, I take the photos ... but from time to time I use Getty Images, iStockphoto (where I am currently a stock photographer) and Bauer-Griffin.

BlogBurst.comLastly, this site is syndicated through Blogburst, so it's likely that you'll see LIFT on Fox News, Reuters, or USA Today.com.

I hope that you continue to enjoy LIFT. I look forward to publishing it.

Discover-Health-Podfitness.jpg

Adidas and Polar training system -- want it. Nalgene and Brita -- want it. This site has everything you could want. But what about a free Podfitness account and gym membership? I thought you might want that, which is why I decided to tell you about Discovery Health's National Body Challenge.

It's a comprehensive fitness and weight loss challenge that provides the tools to get in shape and lead a healthier lifestyle. Registration is absolutely free and includes an 8-week trial membership to Bally Total Fitness and 8-weeks of free audio personal trainer coaching from Podfitness, which is only available until 11pm on Tuesday, Jan. 15th.

There’s also a myriad of online components, including over 1,000 recipes and meal plans by Eating Well, health tips from renowned experts Dr. Mehmet Oz and Dr. Pam Peeke, a workout designed by fitness guru Gilad, special videos, and community tools that include user-gen blogs with Podfitness Trainers keeping you motivated, message boards and chats. Even our own Jim Ryno has been asked to be involved.

The yearly program is a collaboration between a growing number of health experts, doctors, nutritionists, partners and supporters including Eating Well, the National Diabetes organization, and the American Heart Association.

Of course, feel free to share the info and join the challenge. And enjoy the great swag.
