LIFT items are selected either by myself or by one of my guest editors. If you have a cool tip, please share it with me! And, no, you can't pay to be featured on LIFT. That's what advertising is for, and it's clearly labeled as such. I do not want to destroy the legitimacy, integrity, and fun of this blog. Plus, I'll never earn your trust that way.

For the most part, I take the photos ... but from time to time I use Getty Images, iStockphoto (where I am currently a stock photographer) and Bauer-Griffin.

BlogBurst.comLastly, this site is syndicated through Blogburst, so it's likely that you'll see LIFT on Fox News, Reuters, or USA Today.com.

I hope that you continue to enjoy LIFT. I look forward to publishing it.

Apparently, just breathing isn't enough these days

hear01_oxygen.jpgProfessional teams and players in the NFL, NHL, and NBA as well as elite college programs and everyday people are getting their altitude from Colorado Altitude Training (CAT) and their extra Oxygen from companies like Oxia.

More oxygen means more energy and less oxygen means better lung performance. That's what people are banking on anyway.

Take your pick.

home_dispenser.jpgColorado Altitude Training's products simulate altitude by lowering the oxygen percentage in the air to mimic the number of O2 molecules per breath at altitude which increases your lung performance. They do this by placing you (and anyone willing to join you) in a plastic tent.

On the other side - taking in extra oxygen - companies, like Oxia, claim to offer active, health conscious people a convenient source of natural energy to complement exercise and a busy lifestyle; they also promote a natural alternative to help you party longer and harder! The same can't be said of the tent - unless, of course, the right person joins you.
